Text: William Shelley returned to Sydney to marry Elizabeth Bean, daughter of a free settler, which he did on 7 October and returned to Tahiti next month. The family returned to Sydney in the Lucy in April 1806.

Text: William Shelley of the parish of Parramatta and Elizabeth Bain [sic] of ditto were married in this church by permission of His Excellency Governor King this seventh day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and one by me Samuel Marsden.
