Text: Thomas was described as a bachelor and farmer, usual residence Bruce's Creek. Catherine was described as a spinster and domestic servant of Bruce's Creek. 'The consent of James Bruce of Bruce's Creek, father of the within-named Thomas Bruce - and also the consent of T.S. Miller Esq. P.M. on behalf of the within-named woman, C. Walker, he acting as Guardian under a certain 'Act of Council' was respectively given to the marriage of T. Bruce and C. Walker, with each other, both the said parties being under the age of twenty-one years'. They were married according to the rites of the Church of England. The officiating minister was James Gunther. Thomas signed the register with his X mark; it appears that Catherine signed the register. The witnesses were James Bruce and Bridget Walker. |
