The Marriage Register Book of Weston Birt in pursuance of an Act of Parliament which commenced the 25th day of March 1754 for preventing clandestine marriages... Sunday March the 6th, Sunday March the 13th, Sunday March the 20th 1757. The Banns of marriage were published between john Purnel of Didmarton and Mary Ball of this parish. John Purnel of Didmarton and Mary Ball of this parish were married in this church by banns this 11th day of April 1757 by me John Harris Rector. This marriage was solemnized between use the mark X of John Purnell and Mary Ball (signed the register ) in the presence of John Ball (who signed the register) and Joseph Clay (who signed the register).
