Text: Sydney Morning Herald 1 Dec 1908: SIMMONDS V SIMMONDS Sarah Simmonds, formerly Norris, was the petitioner in a case against Edward Henry Simmonds, a baker. The parties were married in February 1897 [sic], all All Saints, Birmingham, England. Mr. C.A. Walker appeared for the petitioner. Evidence was given that after they had been settled in Australia some years, respondent went to South Africa with the second contingent. He wrote to petitioner on one occasion; but she had not seen him since. A decree nisi was granted, returnable in six months.
