MR. AND MRS. SAM McCORD, of Boomerang-street, Cessnock, have their only three sons in the Army. Sam, the eldest son, who is well known for his swimming capabilities, recently underwent an operation in camp hospital. Raymond, their next son, is in a different camp, while Jackie, is "somewhere in the Northern Territory". Mr McCord, who is well known as a fruiterer, and previous to that as a mine deputy, recently decided to live the remainder of his life in retirement.

Obituary. MRS. M. McCORD. After an illness of only two days, Mrs. Marion McFarland McCord, passed away at the Cessnock Hospital on Friday night. Mrs. McCord who was 67 years of age was an old identity of the Cessnock district. She is survived by her husband and a large adult family, most of whom are well-known Cessnock residents. The funeral moved from her late residence in Boomerang-street for the Beresford Crematorium yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Pullen officiated.
