At Chelmsford Assizes, eight prisoners were capitally convicted, viz. Wm. Payne, J. Brewne, and John Plummer, for burglary; John Wilson, for horse-stealing; Charles Raven, Wm. Nichols, and Thomas Dean, for bullock-stealing; and Henry Newland, for privately stealing Bank notes, value 3l. but they were all reprieved.
