Text: Bruce enlisted on 14 Jan 1942. He was described as a labourer aged 25 years 11 months with 1 child over 16, height 5 foot 6 inches, blue eyes, light brown hair. He had a small scar on left wrist and on his left shin and knee. Bruce had a series of medical problems during his war service. He had a hernia, scabies, dental problems and impetigo and a recurrent streptococcal skin infection for which he was judges unfit to serve in humid climates. He served time in the artillery training regiment. He remained in Australian throughout his enlistment and was discharged on 28 Nov 1945. |
