PARRAMATTA.
An inquest was held at Mr Webb's Union Inn, Church-street, on Monday last, before Mr Lyons, coroner, on view of the body of the late John Byrne, shoeingsmith, residing near the Bridge, aged 57 years. From the evidence of John Byrnes, son of deceased, it appeared that he had been complaining for some time past. About two months since Dr Rutter saw him, and prescribed for him, but he refused to take the medicine, which remained in the house till the present time. For the last nine months he had been fretting about losing an action in the Supreme Court. He used to indulge in drink. He was out the day before his death, which took place on Sunday forenoon at about 11 o'clock. Witness had sat up with his father all the previous night till four o'clock on Sunday morning. He refused to have medical attendance. Between eight and nine o'clock deceased requested witness to to to his breakfast; he did so, and on his return found him breathing his last. A verdict was returned that deceased John Byrnes came to his death from the joint effects of intemperance and irritation of mind.
