Passengers Uninjured.
No one was injured when a Nash sedan motor car and a Buick tourer came into collision at the intersection of Newcastle and Melbourne Streets East Maitland at 7.30 o'clock on Saturday night last.
Mr. Herbert Purnell of Mayfield, was driving the tourer towards West Maitland when the car came into collision with the sedan driven by Mr. Alfred Lawler of Merriwa, who came out of Melbourne-street and was turning.
The cars came to a standstill side by side in Newcastle-street. The front right mudguard of the Nash sedan was badly dented and one of the window panes smashed. The bumper bar of the tourer car was bent, but there was no other damage."

Mr Ruggero, who represented the defendants, said they were well known workmen in the place, and were engaged in essential industry. There was no question of a criminal element, and the men were not playing for big stakes. They must have some kind of relaxation.
Sergeant Yardy prosecuted. The fines were paid."
