Edmund Lockyer (b. 1784) arrived in Sydney in the Royal Charlotte in April 1825 with a detachment of the 57th; with him were his wife and ten children.

Shipping Intelligence.
On Friday last arrived from England, with 136
male prisoners, and stores for Government, the
ship Royal Charlotte, Captain Corbyn. She sailed
from London on the 12th of November, and Portsmouth
on the 5th January, touching at Teneriffe.
Major Lockyer and 34 men of the 57th Regt, compose
the guard. Major Lockyer is accompanied by
his lady, and family of ten children. Passengers,
Mr. and Mrs. Bates and family, of the Excise.
