By 1 September 1811, when Edward Mortimer Davis (Traviss) was baptised at St Matthew's C of E at Windsor by the Rev. Robert Cartwright, his mother was deceased, and it was also claimed that so was his father. It appears that Elizabeth Davis/Davison, if she was on the "Speke" fell pregnant on the voyage, and William 'Hugh' Traviss/Travers was a crewman on this ship.
An Elizabeth Davison died at the age of 20 on 17th February 1811, and was buried at St Matthews C of E at Windsor, in the register at the church it has this information. "... Came as a Prisoner on the "Speke" 1808..." Elizabeth Davison of the "Speke" was tried in York at the Quarter Sessions on Peace on 7th April 1807 - Sentence 7 years. It is not known if Elizabeth Davis mother of Edward and Elizabeth Davison buried at St Matthews, are one and the same person.
