"CAUTION
ALL persons are hereby cautioned against giving credit on my account or paying any Debts whatever due to me, to John Hoare, a Government Man, indented to me for Twelve Months; as he has absented himself for some days back without my leave for the purpose of going to the Hawkesbury to recover Debts due to me, and with intent to defraud me of them; as also carrying on an illicit traffic at the said place, which may be thought under my sanction; and as I have reason to think he has imposed upon many in my name, I request they will come forward to prove if they have ever paid him any Money on my account.

WHEREAS Captain WILSON thought proper to insert a paragraph in the Sydney Gazette last Sunday calculated to injure me; I hereby caution all such as stand indebted to me by note or otherwise, not to pay Captain Wilson or any person deriving an authority from him any such Debts, as upon a statement of accounts a balance appears in my favour; and claiming a settlement I obtained this displeasure: - Likewise I challenge the Public to come forward and prove any contracts that I have made which may be thought illegal or unjust, or if ever I may have Use of Captain Wilson's credit for my own purposes.
