There are 2 Montgomery families in Boveedy in the 1831 Census. In house number 83 , Jane with 1 male, both Presbyterians. In house number 84, William, + 4 males and 4 females, all Presbyterians. In Desertoghill Graveyard, a mile and a quarter from Boveedy, there is a gravestone of John Montgomery of Boveedy, who died on Sept. 3, 1829, aged 75. He was probably their grandfather. In Killygullib, there are 3 McCord families, 2 Presbyterian and 1 RC, probably brothers, with no indication which family was Samuel's. The Montgomery family was still in Boveedy in the first decade of the 20th century when Mrs. Montgomery's will was registered on Ulster Wills. She was , I think the widow of John Montgomery who died in 1894 and who must have been Jane's brother. Note: Witnesses were Jas McCord & Jas McGummery. Jane's named recorded as McGummery. They were both natives of the Civil Administrative Parish of Tamlaght o Crilly, Co. Derry, part of the Presbyterian Parish of Kilrea and Boveedy, he from Killygullib and she from Boveedy.
