Mary was a convict. She was tried at Bristol Quarter Sessions on 14 Jan 1811 and sentenced to transportation for seven year. She was one of 119 convicts transported on the ship 'Wanstead' in 1813. Upon arrival in the colony, she was assigned as a servant to G. J. Palmer of Windsor.

William and Mary did not marry. Mary gave birth to a daughter also named Mary on 21 September 1815, and when the child was baptised at Windsor on 29 October 1815, William Fishburn was named as the father. Mary married Joseph Huff just six months later and no trace has ever been found of the baby's life or death.
