The marriage took place at Newtown in April, 1908, according to the rites of the Church of England. Decree nisi granted, returnable in six months.

"She kissed me good bye and waved me out of sight" said Bertie Francis Tinker, who petitioned for a dissolution of his marriage with Florence Marion Tinker (formerly Moulds) on the ground of desertion. "But when I came back I couldn't find her, or my furniture either." petitioner said he was married to the respondent in April 1908, at the Newtown Methodist Church. He left for work one morning, but when he returned home in the evening both his wife and furniture were gone. His Honor granted a decree nisi, re4turnable in six months. |

Petersham. - NORMAN CLYDE McPHERSON (26), charged on warrant that he did, at Newtown, on the 11th September 1919, marry Marian Florice Tinker, and that whilst so married did, at Canterbury, on the 21st November 1825, marry Martha Quinn, the said Marian Florice Tinker being then alive, has been arrested by Constables Cartwright and Fishlock, Sydney Police. Committed for trial at Quarter Sessions. Further charged on warrant with using threatening words to Marian Florice McPherson. Discharged. Identical with offender same name (vide Photo-book, 102, page 180).

Twigg appeared, was charged with marrying Martha Quin at Canterbury, on November 21, while his first wife, Marian Florice Tinker, whom he had married at New- town on September 11, 1919, was still alive. Accused in defence pleaded that he had been served with a citation in divorce in 1923, and seeing the case advertised in the law list in 1924 came to the conclusion that he was divorced. His Honor directed the jury to convict the accused, who was bound over in his own recognisance in £30 to appear for sentence on November 1. |
