SHIP NEWS.
On Tuesday arrived the Providence, Captain
Barclay, with prisoners of both sexes from Ireland.
She received them at the Cove of Cork ; and was
afterwards obliged to put into Falmouth ; from
whence she sailed the 21st of January, in company
with the Narcissus frigate, from which she parted
at Teneriffe. She arrived at Rio de Janeiro the
22nd of March, sailed from thence the 14th of
April ; and brings no information whatever of a po-
litical nature more than we are already acquainted
with. The Regency Bill as our information by the
Cumberland bade us anticipate, had passed the two
Houses of Parliament ; His Royal Highness the
Heir Apparent had consescended to declare his
acquiescence with the wish of the Nation to accept
the important Trust. The affairs of Spain and Por-
tugal were the same as before ; or at least no impor-
tant change had taken place.

Deaths.
At his residence, Brisbane Meadows, Argyle, on the 19th Ultimo, William Mitchell, Esq., in his 52nd year. Mr. Mitchell (the son of a most respectable family in Kent) was an Emigrant of 27 years standing. His bereaved widow and numerous sons and daughters will not alone lament the loss of the affectionate husband and tender parent - Many who knew him best must long regret the benevolent man, the conscientious master, the intellectual companion, and the generous friend. His remains were followed to their resting place in the Burial Ground at Inverary, by a large assemblage of the chief landed proprietors, with their Dependents, and other respectable inhabitants in the vicinities of Goulburn and Bungonia.
