Property
Text: Joseph and Mary settled on a 65 acre block which had come to Hannah from her mother, Hannah Russell. Here they planted orchards of peaches, apricots, pears, plums and citrus fruits and built their small timber cottage. They gave it the name of 'Cherrybrook', probably from the cherry trees they planted near the creek which would have flowed through one corner of their land. |

Death
Citation details: p. 28 Text: On Mary Ann's death, 'The Methodist' of 21 May 1904 reported how, many years earlier, she had attended Divine Worship at the home of Mr Pogson, and how 'the truth found lodging in her young heart, and she was soundly converted. The good times Gpd's people then enjoyed were often spoken of by Mrs Harrison. She cast in her lot with the people of God, and availed herself of the privileges of church membership, receiving her ticket on trial April 2, 1841. That membership remained unbroken throught the rest of her life. 'She had been for some years more or less a sufferer, but her sunny disposition and her confidence in God her Saviour enabled her to bear her affliction with marked patience and cheerfulness. It is now many years since she was able to get about with comfort, and hence she was practically confined to her house. But she found ways of shedding brightness around her. Her home was one of hospitality and kindness, and no one who was seeking to do the Lord's work but was sure of a welcome there. 'Mrs Harrison was not an ontentatious Christian. She was what is far better - a consistent and lovable one, who commended her religion in her home and among her neighbours. She prized her membership in the church, and set an example in this respect that was worthy of imitation...' Citation details: p. 145 Text: Died 1906 aged 85 (from headstone transcript).
