Text: The family at first lived and worked on the orchards around Thomas senior's house, but by the 1880's had built a two storied store and home on the corner of Castle Hill Road and Pennant Hills Road, which was to give the intersection it's name of Thompson's corner. The store had two main entrances - one to the general store and another to the draper's shop; inside the two sections opened into one another through a large arched doorway. The bakery alongside, under the supervision of son Ernest, baked loaves for the neighbourhood. |
