George McGinnis of the parish of St John Parramatta and Ann Cursley were married in this church by banns this eleventh day of Mary in the year one thousand eight hundred and seven by me Henry Fulton
Both George and Ann signed the register with their X marks
in the presence of Elias Bishop and Catherine Bishop who both also made their X marks

Flood

Ann and George with their baby daughter suffered severely in the floods that swamped the lowlands in 1809. Although reduced to accepting government aid of rations and blankets, George neither lost heart or fell behind in debt. Evidence of good financial standing was his acquisition of a cow on credit from the government herds. She cost him £28.

Conditional Pardon

George received is Conditional Pardon in 1810, and he was alloted 3 and a third acres in the newly gazetted town of Wilberforce which Governor Macquarie had founded to provide safe living areas for flood-prone landholders who were flooded out in 1809.

Land Grant
Text:

In 1821 George was granted 30 acres at Kurrajong. He also purchased 25 acres from Paul Bushell on 27 Oct 1814.

Property
Text:

George bought 30 acres on the MacDonald River on 22 Oct 1824, which in 1828, was being worked for him by Anthony Morrison. George also bought in 1826, 20 acres of Wm. Singleton's original grant on Argyle Reach, and 50 acres of land at Kurrajong.
