Citation details: Cumberland Argus Sat 29 Nov 1919 p. 8 Text: THORNLEIGH. AN OLD RESIDENT. Mr. James Ware, sen., an old and respected resident of the district, died suddenly about 2 p.m. on Monday at the residence of Mrs. Eliza Burbridge, his widowed daughter. The old gentleman, who leaves a large family, had been confined to his bed for about 14 months, suffering from partial paralysis and general weakness. Shortly after noon on Monday, he was taken with an attack of retching. Dr. Beazley, of Wahroonga, was called in, but before his arrival the old man died. The cause of death was cerebral haemorrhage. As the patient had been receiving medical attention and the doctor had stated that death might occur at any moment, the coroner dispensed with an inquest. Source: Dunn, Judith. AN OLD RESIDENT. Mr. James Ware, sen., an old and respected resident of the district, died suddenly about 2 p.m. on Monday at the residence of Mrs. Eliza Burbridge, his widowed daughter. The old gentleman, who leaves a large family, had been confined to his bed for about 14 months, suffering from partial paralysis and general weakness. Shortly after noon on Monday, he was taken with an attack of retching. Dr. Beazley, of Wahroonga, was called in, but before his arrival the old man died. The cause of death was cerebral haemorrhage. As the patient had been receiving medical attention and the doctor had stated that death might occur at any moment, the coroner dispensed with an inquest. Source: Dunn, Judith.
