Text:

"...The respectful memorial of `William Roberts
Sheweth
That Your Excellency's memorialist has been resident in this colony upwards of twenty years with a character and conduct unimpeached being generally known to the officers and gentlemen therein.
That on account of such his conduct the late Governor King was pleased to grant your memorialist a lease of the premises he now occupies for fourteen years, and which as a further encouragement to his industry and assiduity His Honor Lieutenant Governor Paterson was pleased to renew for the term of twenty years and in consideration of your memorialists family of four infant children [illegible] to him the accompanying grant of two hundred acres of land.
In surrendering these beneficent humane and impartial testimonials of His Honors approbation to Your Excellencys hands your memorialist fondly hopes no obstacle will intervene to oppose a renewal thereof; and your memorialist humbly pledges himself that no pains or attention will be wanting in his endeavour to ensure as a good citizen and subject Your Excellency's approbation also.
And your memorialist as in
duty bound will every pray"
