Mitcheldean.
FUNERAL OF THE LATE MR. AND M,RS. GABB.
The remains of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gabb whose deaths took place at their residence, The Stenders, Mitcheldean, on February 25th and 26th respectively, were laid to rest, side by side, in a double grave in the burial ground of St Michael and All Angels Church, Mitcheldean, in the presence of their sorrowing family and a number of relatives and friends. The coffins were of plain oak with solid brass mountings, and bore the inscritpions: "John Gabb, died February 25th, 1922 aged 79 years"; and "Caroline Gab died February 25th 1922, aged 76 years." The mourners were: Mr. W. Gabb (son), Mr and Mrs E. Gabb (son and daughter in law), Mr and Mrs A. Gabb (son and daughter in law), Mr. and Mrs Perks (son in law and daughter), Miss Gab (daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Mulock (son in law and daughter), Messrs. E. and F. Gabb (brothers). Mr. Cyril Gabb (nephew) also representing his father. Mr. S. Gabb (brother) and Mr. E. Baldwin (nephew). Mr. J. Teague represented the National Master Farriers' Association, of which deceased was one of the first members. There was a large number of floral tributes from deceased's family and friends, including one from the National Master Farriers' Association.
Mr. Gabb for many years resided at Blaisdon and had a good reputation as a farrier. He was also instructor in shoeing to the students at Bradley Court until he retired from business and went to reside at Mitcheldean about five years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Gabb celebrated their golden wedding in the year 1916.
