"THE LATE MR. JOHN DALE.
The Gunning correspondent of the "penny Post" writes:-
The late Mr. John Dale, sen., whose funeral took place at Yass on the 31st ultimo was a native of Parramatta, and brother of the late Mr. David Dale, M.L.A., of Sydney, and Mr. Wm. Dale, grazier, of Ballarat, Victoria. In 1853 he married Miss Barber of Glyford, and niece of the late Judge Inness, of Sydney, and Captain Innes. Mr. Dale at one time was part owner of Bendock Station, near Hay, and sold out to an English syndicate, after which he bought Bogolara, near Yass, also Bylong station in the Mulga district. Both of these he eventually disposed of, and during the remaining years of his life lived in retirement with his sons. Mr. S.B. Dale of Gunning is a son.
