Address: St Philips Text: John was a soldier in the 102nd Regiment Text: They were married at St. Philip’s Church, Sydney, by the Rev. Samuel Marsden. Rev. Marsden’s notes give the date of the wedding as 29 July 1798, but the church register shows the date as 23 July. |
Emigration

Text: On Apr 1806 John taking with him his eldest son John then aged about 7, was transferred to India. Citation details: p. 231 Text: There seems to be some doubt about Anthony's paternity because Rousseau was absent at the relevant period in Norfolk Island. He was on furlough in India from Apr 1806 until Apr 1809 and information from a letter written years later by Mary Sherland, Lucy's daughter indicates that he took his three sons with him. Alternatively, he may have returned to England in 1806 or 1810, where he was discharged. Lucy Lane began a relationship with James Knell or Neil some time in 1807. |
