EXPARTE DIXON. A writ of habeas corpus having been granted at the instance of George Frederick Dixon commanding the wife of the latter to produce in Court the applicant's two children (both girls, aged respectively five years and two years). Mrs. Dixon appeared with the children in obedience to the writ, and upon the motion of Mr. Murray the return was ordered to be filed. From the affidavit of the husband, and the statement of the wife, it appeared that there had been sone unhappy differences between them, and upon the husband proposing to fo to New Zealand the wife had taken away the children. The case, however, was remanded until Monday, in order that unless there was some arrangement in the interim, the parties might come properly prepared with statements or affidavits upon which the court might pronounce its decision.

Buried St Thomas cemetery, West Street, North Sydney. An Act of Parliament in 1967 designated the area as 'community land' and the Cemetery was handed over to North Sydney Council. The conversion of the Cemetery to Rest Park in the early 1970s was the Council's first heritage project and the Rest Park was reopened in 1974. William's gravestone was not found on personal inspection of the cemetery in 2005. The park is mostly grassed over and very few headstone remain.
