"... The Humble Memorial of William Day
respectfully sheweth
That Your Memorialist was Private and Serjeant in the New South Wales Corps upwards of sixteen years, and was discharged about four years since by request and being unfit for service.
That a grant for 150 acres of land by given by His Honor Colonel Paterson to memorialist, being 130 acres for himself and 10 acres to each of his children the [illegible] proportion [illegible] always been allowed to [illegible] settled but [illegible] assistance has been afforded him to proceed to the entitlement thereof.
That your memorialist begs leave to refer your Excellency to Major Abbott for his character and also to [illegible] Lt. Colonel Foveaux promised that he would speak on his behalf.
Your memorialist therefore humbly implores Your Excellency will be pleased on account of his children and past service to renew his grant...

"...The memorial of William Day
Most humbly sheweth
That memorialist has a wife and two children, came to this colony in the year 1792 in the New South Wales Corps having then been in His Majesty's service 15 and a half years, that he obtained his discharge at his own request in the year 1808 and then became a settler in the colony.
That he has continued to reside on and improve four(?) farms since this period has the whole of [illegible] adjoining his farm is now taken up what remains him by the means of keeping his little stock.
Memorialist humbly prays Your Excellency will be pleased to extend to him the indulgence of a small grant of land in the country lately discovered by Charles Throsby Esquire where he will immediately remove and proceed to the improvement thereof, being desirous to make ample provision for his children as in his power before old age shall deprive him of the powers of doing so.
And memorialist as in duty bound will every pray"
"I hereby certify that I know memorialist and believe him to ne a deserving character. Charles Throsby. (signature)"
