| Death | 28 October 1889 (aged 52 years)
Source: National Library of Australia. Trove: one search...a wealth of information. [database on-line]. Text: Sudden Death A man named Leigh Humphreys, aged 55 years, a coal miner in the employ of Messrs. Stafford Bros., of Bundamba and Dinmore, died very suddenly at the latter place yesterday morning. He was sitting on a truck, waiting his turn to go below to work when he fell over and died. The police and the Government medical officer at Ipswich (Dr. von Lossberg) visited the scene of the occurence and a post mortem examination was made. This disclosed the fact that the deceased has been suffering from heart disease and pleurisy, and that one lung had been dried up for some length of time. Humphreys had been thrice married and he leaves two sons, one aged 26 (a miner also, living at Dinmore) and another aged 2 1/2 years.
